There seems to be a bit of a panic over this new form of flu which has been labeled as "Swine Flu".
The govenment seem to be taking it serious so should we the general public be panicking?
I think you have got to look at the wider picture here and relise that flu viruses have been going around for years and the human body seems to tackle them quite well with their own natural defences (Immune System).
However, there have been the odd occasion in the past where a pandemic has taken hold and wiped out millions.
What is the best way to avoid catching this new "Swine Flu"?
I don't think anyone really knows at this moment in time so I would recommend that you treat it as an airborn virus and a virus that is passed on by touching someone or something that is contaminated. Remember it is better to be safe than sorry so wash your hands and everything else that may have come in contact with the swine flu virus. Avoid overcrowded places such as pubs, clubs and just about anywhere that a crowd of people would gather. If you see people sneezing try to avoid them. If you yourself feel ill and think you might have the virus, then please try not to pass it on. Avoid as many people as you can and cough into a hanky.
I think it is only fair to say that if nobody is exposed to the swine flu virus, how can the human immune system develope the antibodies to combat it.
Some people may be more at risk than others such as the "Younger Teens". They might not be able to cope with swine flu because their immune system might go into overdrive because of the swine flu. The older and younger generations might cope because their immune systems are much slower.
Whatever you think of swine flu, take care!
